In 1957, young Mr. Leo Stefansky decided it was time to share his passion for all-things-fish with the world. After casting a wide net and scouring the depth for the best, he partnered with a fishing company that shared his vision and obsession for quality. Patiently and meticulously, Mr. Stefansky hand canned his freshly procured tuna. He rented a truck and coined his new enterprise Dagim. Armed with nothing but belief in his product he went from shop to shop, and restaurant to restaurant, offering what he knew to be the best tuna money could buy. He expected shop owners to be wary of this new company. He expected slow, but hopefully steady sales. What he did not expect was the barrage of phone calls he would receive just ten days into his rounds. Shopkeepers, restaurant owners, and chefs were clamoring for more.A simple sample of this new canned tuna was all it took for people to know a winner when they tasted it. After all, quality is easily recognizable. From those modest beginnings grew the leviathan you know today, an international seafood company that produces hundreds of products like freshly frozen Tilapia, Salmon, Flounder, Breaded Filets, Canned Sardines, Canned tuna, Canned Salmon, to name a few. If it?s seafood and it?s kosher, we offer it. Now in our third generation of ownership, we couldn?t be more proud of the reputation we?ve built, and the trust we?ve earned. We?ve grown remarkably over the last six decades, but have retained the passion and commitment that got us here. If you?ve tasted a Dagim product (and who hasn?t?), you know what we?re talking about.
